I was born in Houston, TX, USA, but moved to Pakistan at an early age. My childhood was spent in a small company town in the heart of rural Pakistan, in the desert region of Sind. Those years were filled with fond memories of playing sports and spending time with friends who I consider family.
Our family relocated several times before eventually settling in the vibrant city of Karachi. Karachi holds a special place in my heart, and its palpable energy left a lasting impression on my younger self.
For my medical graduate training, I relocated to the United States, moving first to West Virginia. I was mesmerized by the beauty of the Appalachian region. After completing my time in West Virginia, I moved to New York City for my fellowship. NYC quickly became one of my favorite cities due to its unbeatable energy, reminiscent of Karachi, and I was completely immersed in it.
Following my fellowship, I moved to Washington, DC, where I encountered a diverse array of people from all walks of life, engaged in government, politics, and medicine. This exposure has further broadened my perspective and enriched my professional experience.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and discovering new and interesting eateries. This passion for culinary exploration complements my professional interests, allowing me to continue learning about different cultures through their cuisines.
My journey across continents and cultures has shaped my approach to medicine and life, giving me a unique global perspective that I bring to my work every day.
